Polyporus rhizophilus is reported from eight localities in the České středohoří hills (NW Bohemia), mostly in steppe grasslands dominated by Stipa capillata. This species is considered a rare steppe polypore with a disjunct Central European distribution. Details on its habitat and associated vegetation are given.
