The known distribution of Geastrum pouzarii V. J. Staněk is discussed. Until now it is recorded only in Central and Northern Bohemia. The collections published as G. pouzarii from the German Democratic Republic (Dörfelt 1976) and Spain (Calonge 1981) are, according to the revision of the herbarium material made by V. J. Staněk, Z. Pouzar and the author of this paper in 1976 and 1982, identical with the allied species G. campestre Morg. Because for almost 30 years after the description G. pouzarii has not been found outside Bohemia (where it is known from 15 localities), it is possible to consider it meanwhile as a fungus endemic to Bohemia.
