Ultrastructural study of Coelomycidium simulii thalli shows a multi-layered wall and central concentration of nuclei, mitochondria, and vacuoles. Most nuclei are in mitosis, and the nuclear membrane remains intact. Structural features are detailed, confirming distinct developmental stages in this chytrid infecting blackfly larvae.
