A remarkable record of Leccinum scabrum (Bull. ex Fr.) S. F. Gray is reported from a live peat-bog in the České středohoří mountains. The species was found growing near dwarf birches in extremely waterlogged habitat. This record provides evidence that ectotrophic mycorrhizae can develop even in such extreme conditions, which are generally considered unfavourable for tree growth.
