During a mycological excursion in northern Norway near the Kevo Subarctic Research Station (approx. 70°15′ N), the author collected a unique turf-inhabiting fungus of the genus Ramariopsis. It could not be matched with any known species and is therefore described and illustrated as Ramariopsis subarctica sp. nov.
