The author describes and illustrates Pluteus dianae, a new species in subsection Depauperati Lange. Although it resembles Pluteus pellitus in appearance, it lacks thick-walled horned metuloid cystidia microscopically. The pileipellis and lamellar trama consist of dimitic hyphae. The fungus was collected on a decayed trunk of Fagus sylvatica in the primeval forest “Diana” near Rozvadov, western Bohemia.
