Boletus gabretae sp. nov., closely related to Boletus junquillei (Quél.) Boud., is described. It differs from the mentioned species mainly by the reticulate surface of the stipe. The yellow flesh rapidly turns blue, indicating affinity to Boletus erythropus and Boletus luridus, but lacks red coloration. Two fruitbodies were found in a spruce forest near Horská Kvilda, Šumava Mountains, at 1050 m a.s.l. Notes on systematic value and affinities of these yellow boletes are provided.
