The fungus treated in literature as Lactarius resimus (Fr.) Fr. sensu Ricken or Lactarius cilicioides (Fr.) Fr. sensu Neuhoff is not identical with the original concepts of these species. As no applicable name exists, it is described as a new species, Lactarius citriolens Pouz. It grows commonly in broadleaf woods between Prague and Beroun with Quercus petraea, Carpinus betulus and Fagus sylvatica. It is the largest species of the genus in this area.
