In August 1929, the author found a fruiting body of Pulveroboletus lignicola (Kallenbach) comb. nov. on a rotting spruce stump near Plöckenstein Lake in the Šumava Mountains. The author took a photo and later identified it as a rare species described by Kallenbach. Its key traits include growth on conifer stumps, rusty-yellow color, and a gelatinous cap surface.
