The author presents the results of his study on the distribution of Pycnoporus cinnabarinus (Jacq. ex Fr.) Karst. in Czechoslovakia, as part of the European macrofungi mapping project. Based on data from 133 records, mostly revised by the author, the species is primarily submontane in Czechoslovakia, frequent in hilly regions, less common in mountains, and rare in lowland areas. It is typically found on beech, cherry, rowan, and birch. Despite the relatively high number of records, this vividly colored fungus remains rare in most phytogeographical units of the country.
