Two species of the genus Pythium, P. aphanidermatum (Eds.) Fitz. and P. monosporum Pringsh., are reported from Czechoslovakia for the first time. The first was isolated from horseradish and carrots in vegetable shops and from beets in fields. The second species was not further discussed in the excerpt. Their morphology, distribution, and pathogenicity are reviewed.
