  abstract   Russula salmoneolutea sp. nov., a rare agaric from the Giant Mountains, is described. It grows in sycamore-beech forests at 800–1100 m elevation. It has a light orange to salmon-colored spore print, not fitting Romagnesi’s color scale, and distinct morphological and microscopic features that separate it from related species like R. helios or R. flavocitrina. Ecological and taxonomic data are also provided.
