  abstract   The spring fungus Rhodophyllus saundersii (Fr.) Romagn., often mistaken for R. clypeatus, was recorded in Moravia. Detailed morphological description is provided to distinguish it. The cap is up to 12 cm wide, with salmon-pink gills and white flesh with strong farinaceous odor. Microscopic features and spore color are noted for identification.
