  abstract   The entomophilous fungus Dimeromyces falcatus Paoli was found on the mite Canestrinia carabicola, a symbiont of Carabus morbillosus. Previously known only from Italy, it is now reported from other Mediterranean localities. The mite is a new host for the fungus.
