  abstract   The author presents a monographic study of the brightly colored species Tricholoma focale (Fr.) Ricken. The paper discusses its taxonomic history, morphological description based on personal collections, and comparison with earlier works. It includes data on the geographical distribution with 23 confirmed localities in Czechoslovakia and proposes a new subgenus Armillarina for species with a well-developed veil.
