  abstract   The polypore species Skeletocutis ochroalba is newly reported from the Czech Republic and for the first time from Central Europe. Both morphology and sequencing of DNA (ITS region) confirmed the identity of the species. It is characterised by pileate basidiocarps, narrow allantoid spores and ecology. Its similarity to S. nivea is discussed. An in situ photo of S. ochroalba is included.
