  abstract   The rare species Hohenbuehelia josserandii was recorded in Slovakia for the first time. The locality in the Súľovské vrchy Hills is one of the easternmost in Europe. Basidiomata were produced on branches of freshly fallen silver fir (Abies alba). Field observations and morphological characteristics of the species are described in detail and compared with published data. Distribution data are visualised on a map. The ITS nrDNA sequence of the Slovak collection is in agreement with the sequence of the H. josserandii holotype.
