  abstract   Hypsizygus tessulatus is redescribed from American material and compared with European data. Three European species from the Hohenbuehelia petaloides group are discussed. A new species H. recedens from Mexico is described. H. portegna is reported from both continents. A new species Pseudoclitocybe beschidica is compared to American and European representatives. Pleurocybella porrigens is reinstated for the European representative of Nothopanus.
