abstract
Two very rare polypores are reported from the Czech Republic: Sarcoporia polyspora, for the first time, and Jahnoporus hirtus, for the second time. Several basidiocarps of both polypores were collected and their growth and development were monitored for a period of three months. The collections and localities are described and their world distribution as well as affinities with other fungi are commented.

abstract
Albatrellus hirtus (Cooke) Donk was found during the excursion in nature reserve “Polom“ near Horní Bradlo (Železné hory Mts.), which represents the first locality of this species in Czechoslovakia (the 6th in Europe). A detailed description including macrochemical reactions is given, based on fresh material. The fruitbody is characterized by a hairy brown cap contrasting with white pores, and microscopic features are described in detail.
