  abstract   First three cases of mushroom poisoning caused by Omphalotus olearius (DC. ex Fr.) Sing. were noted from Czechoslovakia in 1979 and 1980. They involved a total of 9 persons (8 patients had acute gastritis and one patient had gastroenteritis). The fungus is rare in Bohemia and Moravia, but it was found several times in Slovakia recently. A total of 96 localities are known from Czechoslovakia (Bohemia 13, Moravia 21, Slovakia 62).
