EGERTOVÁ Z., ECKSTEIN J., VEGA M. (2015): Lamprospora tuberculata, Octospora ithacaensis, O. orthotrichi and O. affinis - four bryoparasitic ascomycetes new to the Czech Republic. [bryoparasitic Pezizales, Ascomycota, Pyronemataceae, rhizoid galls, central Europe] Czech Mycology 67(2): 119-133 (published: 2nd July, 2015)
abstract
Four bryoparasitic ascomycetes, Lamprospora tuberculata, Octospora ithacaensis, O. orthotrichi and O. affinis were recently found in the Czech Republic for the first time. For each species, basic description of macroscopical and microscopical characters, information about its habitat, distinguishing features of similar species as well as notes on the distribution in Europe are provided. Furthermore, apothecia, spores and parasitising structures are illustrated. The following parasite-host relationships were observed: L. tuberculata on Pleuridium subulatum, O. ithacaensis on Marchantia polymorpha, O. orthotrichi on Orthotrichum diaphanum and O. affinis on Orthotrichum affine. One locality of L. tuberculata, two of O. ithacaensis, eight of O. orthotrichi and one of O. affinis were found. Internal cavities in the warts of spores in O. affinis and L. tuberculata are newly reported as well as the infection of leaf cells in O. affinis.
MORAVEC J. (1972): One interesting collection of operculate discomycete from Cairo (Egypt). Česká Mykologie 26(3): 138-140 (published: 1972)
abstract
The author describes an interesting collection of an operculate discomycete found in a flowerpot in The Anderson’s Museum in Cairo. In his opinion, this fungus represents a new variety: Octospora tetraspora (Fuck.) Korf var. aegyptiaca J. Moravec var. nov. A description and drawing of this new variety and notes on differences from the type variety [= Octospora tetraspora (Fuck.) Korf var. tetraspora] are provided. It differs from the typical variety by broader ascospores and longer hyphae at the margin of the excipulum.

abstract
Three new genera of operculate discomycetes (Pezizales) are described: Hiemsia gen. nov. (typus: Lachnea pseudoampezzana Svrček), Kotlabaea gen. nov. (typus: Peziza deformis P. Karst.), and Smardaea gen. nov. (typus: Ascobolus amethystinus Phillips). Notes on the genus Inermisia Rifai are also included.
SVRČEK M. (1967): Galactinia gerardii (Cooke) Svr. in Čechoslovakia. Česká Mykologie 21(1): 31-32 (published: 1967)
abstract
The author reports the presence of the rare operculate discomycete Galactinia gerardii (Cooke) Svrček in Czechoslovakia. It has been found only three times in the country and was previously misidentified as Galactinia ionella. A detailed description of apothecia and microscopic structures is based on specimens collected near Karlštejn.
