  abstract   First report of Chamonixia caespitosa Rolland from Slovakia, with a brief description of this rare gasteromycete. Found in a moist spruce forest near Martin, the fruitbody matched the type described from Chamonix, France (1898). Microscopic characters are detailed.

  abstract   Chamonixia caespitosa Rolland, a rare gasteromycetous fungus, is reported for the first time from Czechoslovakia. The description is based on material collected in the Brdy forest near Komárov. A short discussion is provided of other known European collections of this rare and interesting species.
