  abstract   Arrhenia auriscalpium (Fr.) Fr. (Agaricales) was collected at 3,200 m a.s.l. in the Caucasus in 1977. This important arctic-alpine species is new to the mycoflora of the Soviet Union. The paper provides a description, its distribution, and discusses systematic and ecological aspects.
