ZÁHOROVSKÁ E. (1988): Parasitischer Pilz Microsphaera und dessen askokarpisches Stadium auf den Eichen in der Slowakei. II. Česká Mykologie 42(3): 149-157 (published: 12th August, 1988)
abstract
The paper deals with results of the study of cleistothecia of the powdery mildew fungus Microsphaera on oaks in Slovakia, following the previous part focused on conidial stages. Based on taxonomic characters of cleistothecia (size, appendages, asci and ascospores), the identity of Slovak isolates was evaluated in comparison with Microsphaera alphitoides and M. hypophylla. All taxonomic characters were measured and analyzed from samples collected from both sides of leaves of various oak species.

abstract
The conidial stage of powdery mildew on oaks in Slovakia was studied. Two previously reported species, Microsphaera alphitoides and M. hypophylla, were found to be taxonomically indistinguishable. The oak powdery mildew is regarded as a single species, M. alphitoides, exhibiting great variability in conidial characteristics.
