VAŘEKOVÁ I., TICHÝ V. (1977): The significance of riboflavin in the fruit-body formation in Lentinus tigrinus (Bull. ex Fr.) Fr. Česká Mykologie 31(4): 214-222 (published: 1977)
abstract
The optimum illumination level for the differentiation and growth of the fruit-bodies of Lentinus tigrinus is 300 lx. Riboflavin enhances the translocation of plastic substances to the differentiated fruit-bodies and inhibits the weight increase of the primordia. The effect of riboflavin may be expressed by the ratio of the weight of the fruit-bodies to the weight of the primordia (F:P). This ratio is a sensitive indicator even when the weight of the fruit-bodies increases with the weight of the primordia. Kinetin acts on the differentiation and growth of the fruit-bodies analogously from the viewpoint of quality. In comparison with riboflavin, considerably higher concentrations of kinetin are needed for producing the same effect. The effect is not greater when the two substances are applied together; on the contrary, it is less marked than the effect of either of the two substances applied separately.
PROCHÁZKA V., TICHÝ V. (1976): On the variability of some physiological characteristics of the fungi Stereum hirsutum and Trametes hirsuta. Česká Mykologie 30(3-4): 214-220 (published: 1976)
abstract
Eight isolates of Stereum hirsutum and five of Trametes hirsuta were studied for radial growth, biomass production, wood decomposition, and laccase activity. Results show that physiological traits are isolate-specific and largely independent of environmental origin.
TICHÝ V. (1975): In honorem annorum Doctoris V. Rypáček sexagintaquinta. Česká Mykologie 29(4): 217-218 (published: 1975)
abstract
A conference on medicinal plants held in Mariánské Lázně in April 1975 included numerous presentations on fungi, notably Claviceps, Penicillium cyclopium, and antitumor properties of various higher fungi. The use of plant-derived substances against fungal skin diseases and the effects of rust fungi on medicinal plants were also discussed.
TICHÝ V. (1975): An experimental study of fungus succesion in wood. Česká Mykologie 29(2): 90-96 (published: 1975)
abstract
The paper summarizes results of an experimental study on succession relations among several wood-destroying fungi of different physiological and ecological types. Spruce and beech wood samples were subjected to successive fungal colonization, and decomposition was assessed by loss of dry matter. Results showed that wood availability for colonization is influenced not only by the type and duration of preceding decay but also by the wood species itself.
