abstract
Microfungi colonising coniferous needles in litter were intensively studied in previous decades, but forest stands on serpentine soils have been overlooked. Also, the effects of microclimatic conditions on fungal communities in coniferous litter are unknown. In our study, we aimed to characterise communities of culturable microfungi colonising pine litter needles collected from two types of Scots pine forest growing on serpentine bedrock, i.e. dense forest with relatively stable microclimatic conditions and open-canopy forest on exposed rock with highly variable conditions. The composition of their fungal communities was analysed in respect to microclimatic conditions at the collection sites. Using a combination of phenotypic and molecular data (sequences of ITS rDNA), 35 taxa were distinguished in 1078 fungal colonies recorded, out of which 25 were identified to the species level. Fungal communities were most affected by needle type (litter vs. fermentation layer) followed by maximum temperature during the previous five months. Interestingly, a higher number and abundance of species were recorded at the warmer site, in the open-canopy forest. Dominant fungi recorded in this study (Desmazierella acicola, Phacidium lacerum and Scleroconidioma sphagnicola) were mostly identical to those recorded in previous studies and the occurrence of less abundant taxa previously not recorded in pine litter suggests that the uppermost litter layer represents an important reservoir of fungal diversity.

abstract
The paper deals with the macroscopic variability of Rubroboletus legaliae. A detailed macroscopic description of this species is presented, based on collections from the region of the type locality in Central Bohemia. An epitype is selected because of the age and insufficient representativeness of the holotype. The authors point out that Boletus spinarii, a species described by Hlaváček from South Bohemia as a member of the B. regius complex (genus Butyriboletus at present), is conspecific with the previously described Boletus legaliae (genus Rubroboletus at present); therefore the name B. spinarii is a synonymous name. The alleged distinguishing character of B. spinarii – orange, cinnabar to brick-red pores when young, soon changing colour to orange-yellow or yellow – is occasional according to our long-term field observations, caused possibly by external factors and not fixed within individual mycelia of R. legaliae. The taxonomic value of this deviation is not important enough to consider a separate taxon. Comparison of ITS rDNA sequences supports the conspecifity of both species. Although the name B. spinarii was validly published, the holotype was not deposited in the herbarium designated in the protologue. Therefore, a neotype is designated here.

abstract
Psilocybe allenii is a new bluing wood-rotting species from the Pacific Coast, USA. Both morphological and molecular features (ITS rDNA phylogeny) indicate its close relationship to Psilocybe cyanescens Wakef. Despite the shape and size of spores and cystidia of this new species falling within the variability of P. cyanescens, P. allenii can be distinguished by its convex to hemispheric pileus, not wavy at maturity, and ITS rDNA sequence. The description of P. allenii is accompanied by sequences obtained from the holotype and paratype collections (ITS rDNA, LSU, EF-1α and RPB2). Furthermore, similar species of this relationship are discussed and an epitype of P. cyanescens is designated.

The first records of Clitocybula familia from the Czech and Slovak Republics were studied and compared with the type specimen of C. familia var. compressa and several North-American collections of var. familia using macro– and microscopic characters as well as molecular data (LSU rDNA).All the collections were identical. Therefore, there is no need to recognise var. familia and var.compressa, as they represent the same taxon. Detailed macro– and microscopic descriptions are given.In Europe, the species grows on strongly decayed fallen trunks of Abies alba and Picea abies. All four Central-European localities represent valuable old-growth forests. Therefore, this species may be a bioindicator of such environments.

The holotype of Naucoria bohemica Velen. has been revised. This collection corresponds to the most frequent interpretation of the taxon in modern literature. Since the condition of the material is not sufficient to determine microscopic and molecular characters, the authors designate a well-documented collection from the same area (central Bohemia) and corresponding in all aspects with the holotype as an epitype. Description and illustrations are provided for both collections.

abstract
Cultures of Langermannia gigantea, a fungus potentially important for human alimentation and biotechnology purposes, were isolated from wild-growing specimens and a spawn was produced using autoclaved soil as a cultivation substrate. The spawn of two isolates was placed into the soil in two field experimental plots. Fructification was first observed after 4 years in only one plot, where 3 normal fruitbodies were produced. Analysis of the rDNA cassette of the 3 fruitbodies revealed that they were identical and bore the attributes of both introduced isolates. The fungus is able to persist in the inoculated soil for years and is dispersed over the soil volume. This is the first report of successful fructification of L. gigantea introduced at a locality where this species had never been observed before.

An identification key to psychoactive bluing Psilocybe species growing on woody debris in Central Europe is presented. It is mainly based on microcharacters and includes 7 taxa (6 species and 1 variety) of the stirpes Serbica and Cyanescens (former “Psilocybe cyanescens complex“). Micro-, macroscopical, ecological and phenological characters and distribution of the taxa in Europe are presented and discussed.
